Review on Brenthaven Tred Expandable Urban Active Backpack For 15-Inch Chromebooks And Laptops - Titanium, Durable, Ergonomic Protection From Impact & Compression by Allen Wagner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Outstanding build quality; frustrating design

Excellent case for the 15" MacBook Pro, if a bit disappointing compared with older Brenthaven backpacks.I dearly loved my older Brenthaven backpacks, especially the 10yo model which had a VERY handy removable sleeve that worked well for carrying the laptop around the office to meetings. Not only does this backpack not have such a sleeve -- it doesn't even have a fully enclosed area for the laptop, so if it's raining and I need to get something else out of the backpack, I have to be very careful indeed! My other complaint is far more minor, though no less frustrating, and far more frequently. The zipper for the "eyeglasses" area near the top zips closed left-to-right as you're looking at the front of the bag.while the zipper for the frontmost area zips closed right-to-left. When you use both areas every ding-dong day, you always have to pay attention to which bloody direction the thing zips; you can't just go on muscle memory. What a pain. But build quality? Outstanding, as always. I just wish they wouldn't have lost some of their design mojo. The build quality will always keep me coming back to Brenthaven for a first look, but this bag is so frustrating that I'd have to keep my eyes out for another next time.

Pros
  • COMPATIBILITY: Fits laptops, chromebooks, tablets, macbooks, netbooks, notebooks up to 15.6 Inches.
Cons
  • The weight of the backpack can be heavy, especially when fully loaded
