Review on πŸ•―οΈ Firefly Kosher Lamp Oil Fuel - Safe, Green, Non-Toxic & Biodegradable - Virtually Odorless Paraffin Alternative for Indoor/Outdoor Use - Ideal for Lamps, Lanterns, Candles, and Tiki Torches - 5 Gallons (Bulk) by Lisa Chandler

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very clean, odorless, non-stinging

I've always liked oil lamps, but after years of chronic bronchitis/rhinitis I couldn't stand many of the fumes and gases. The "ultra-clean" paraffin oil still annoyed me after it burned out for a while causing our lights to go out except to light and heat small rooms (the powder room) during a power outage. I chose Firefly Safe & Green Oil and am very satisfied. I bought a small bottle with a pointed top so it can be refilled if we invest in larger sizes later. The pointed cap made refilling the oil candles much easier. I would give this oil 5 stars but not sure how eco friendly it is in general. It seems to be extracted from natural gas, so the method of extracting the raw material is not great, and I don't know the production methods, but it is very clean and environmentally friendly when used, and neither my husband nor I can smell or smell it Difficulty breathing when they burn. Lately we've been using several small FF lamps and several old lamps that still contain paraffin oil at the same time but in different rooms, so I've definitely noticed a difference. Until there is a plant fuel for lamps that works just as well, we'll be using Firefly. Not sure how different Clean and Green is from their main product (less expensive), would love to hear from some customers who have tried both.
