I ordered this multimeter along with another "useless" model from another manufacturer for $31. They have the same scale settings and both have autorange. I compared both models to a non-ranged Harbor Freight unit that cost $25 eight years ago. It's the only device that measures to within microamps (useful for high-end lab work). In addition, all devices solve the same problems for most homeowners. I just checked the voltage on the battery and found the following: the cheaper the device, the faster the reading. It took this PrvnPro 10 seconds to "zero out" the correct measurement while it oscillated wildly from 0 to infinity, presumably due to autoranging trying to lock in. Another new model took 5 seconds to oscillate. The old cheap device read in 2-3 seconds without hesitation. I repeated the test more than 5 times on each device and got almost the same results. All devices have the same voltage of +/- 0.003V, so if you want to measure microamps you can spend almost $100 more on this device, otherwise buy a cheaper one. Another novelty I tested was the Neotek NTKTL575-US. This PrvnPro is bigger and more reliable and also looks better in the packaging. Neotek has an easy-to-read display. The PDF user manual is not available online. Keep a hard copy safe.
