This strap is definitely more durable than the original Tomta strap. It just seems thicker and more reliable. However, a real tom tom does not sit completely in the strap like a tom tom strap. I had no problems with this as the "loose" part fits snugly on your wrist but is clearly not OEM. However, the reason I'm throwing it in the trash is because the "loop" that the ribbon goes through is pointed. You can see what I'm talking about in the Amazon picture. It will ruthlessly bite your wrist. That hurts. A lot of. Will make you not wear it for days just for relief. I do not recommend it to anyone
