Great Video Editing Disc

I have the latest MacBook Pro and needed a fast disc to keep up with multiple streams of HD video for realtime editing. With a striped configuration, this drive isn't far behind. works great with an eSata connection and works fairly well with a Firewire 800. There are many glitches with mirroring. I'm using Final Cut Pro 7 and multi-camera editing for a professional wedding production and it's a tremendous drain on the hard drive and CPU. While Final Cut supports a lot more, I've never used more than 6 HD video streams in a multi-clip. For best results under this load, close all other running programs and work only in FCP. It took me a while to figure out how to connect and remove a drive without shutting down my Macbook. After figuring out that I had to plug in the drive and then power it on and "eject" the drive before removing the eSata card and then the hard drive and then physically unplugging it, I had no problems with the Macbook finding the drive Once I'm done with a project, I move it to one of those drives that I have "mirrored" for safe storage, which I only run when I actually move the files, so they should almost always run error-free. no "Disk Health Monitor" with eSata connection. There have been complaints about Drive Manager crashing in Snow Leopard and Lion, and yes, that's true. I very quickly Googling found instructions on how to find WD Raid Manager in HD>Library>Application Support>Western Digital>WDDriveManager>WD Raid Manager.app and was able to move it to my dock, monitor my RAID and from there reconfigure from . No problem. To save $$$ it's worth the small effort to me. However, this is an impressive solution on a budget. I figured I needed a Thunderbolt drive ($$$$$$$) to do what I do. Problem solved for less than $300.
