My 8 year old loves this set and picks up the technique quickly, although learning the right tension can be a little tricky for those with no prior knitting or crochet experience. I love that it comes with 3 sizes of looms which are great for both versatility and the ability to craft with a friend. This loom has 2 particularly nice features. It also makes it easy to remember to finish the loop on the round without counting the loops knitted. And I really like that the pegs have a little groove where you can put the hook. That means even if you make the yarn too tight, you can still pull through the loops without damaging the yarn. As a knitter, I wouldn't use this cheap yarn in real life; but for my daughter it was cool and trendy. And synthetics are machine washable, so always great for kids' crafts.
