Holding a broom to the wall may seem easy, but it's the one gadget that does it perfectly. I've tried every device known to man, from balls that fall to pinch, rubber rollers that expand, to gravity-falling hooks, fold-down scissor handles, I've tried them all and none of them beat this one . All other devices require some finesse to get the broom into the holder, which ranges from annoying to annoying. Not this one. When removing the broom, the broom has a pleasant tendency to almost "jump" out of the holder. Conversely, it "retracts" when you put the broom back. Operation is silent. The broom stays a certain distance from the wall so your knuckles don't hit the wall when you put the broom back in place. I didn't trust the sticky fasteners, so I drilled a few holes in some easy-to-drill plastic (not prone to cracking) which allowed the screw to be securely fastened.
