Fun. but beware! Not super safe when assembled properly

I've wanted a stool like this for my daughter for a long time. She loves being a part of what I do and I thought it would be great for Thanksgiving. The only thing that bothered me was that almost all the stools I looked at had a big hole in the back that a child could fall out of. I understand that there should be an opening for the child to get in and out on their own, but I think there should be some sort of safety bar or gate that can be opened and closed to prevent falls. Anyway, I took a chance and in fact, when we first used the stool, we literally looked away for a second and my daughter sat up, sticking her shaky butt out sharply like most little kids do, and fell down immediately. . behind and on the head. I know, I know YOU CAN'T OPEN IT FOR A SECOND! Well here's the thing, if you're actually cooking and paying attention, eventually you're going to roll over to grab something, and at that point there's a chance your baby will move around in that chair and fall out of a big gap. Behind. There is really very little protection in this regard. My brother suggested just turning the whole cage over so that the front part with the safety bars was at the back and the back part with the hole was at the front. against counter fall prevention. Of course she doesn't come in and out on her own right now, but she's at an age where she really didn't come anyway, we pick her up and put her in/out, so now it's working great for us! love love love! Also, it was easy to assemble (and then reassemble the 'wrong' safe way), light and maneuverable, which is nice but still solid. I think for the price compared to other stools this is a great bargain. I will probably buy at least one more for my parents house and maybe another one for my in-laws. Have fun if you made this safety switch.
