I have an Adventure 2 Benro aluminum tripod with a B2 ball head, it's sturdy, strong and light enough to carry around. I've now bought an Adventure 4 Benro aluminum monopod and am using a Beike ball head with a locked swivel. This momopod is about an inch and a half in diameter - much heavier than I expected. I'm 6ft tall and way taller than I've ever used so I'll do as they say and not open each full length section. It's like a club! And can be used for self-defense when you are being chased by a dog or get into trouble while taking photos. Worth every penny. I also like the swivel leg. It feels a little muffled when in motion, so it doesn't wobble at all. Great monopod! The word that comes to mind is "over-engineering". Buy one. Additional note after 2 months: This is by far the best purchase for my photography hobby. I used it with a Nikon D300 on battery and a Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 with a built in tripod mount. I should be about 10 pounds with this gear but it balances well on this Benro Adventure 4 monopod. It's a beast and rock solid. This helps support the weight of the rig I have so there is no weight on my hands when shooting. It helps to be able to carry that weight while I wait to take photos of the local wildlife. That's the best $65 I've ever spent on photography gear!
