This is a small grinding tool that you can carry in your pocket or leave on the top shelf of your toolbox. It consists of a 1/8" x 1/8" x 3/4" piece of square carbide welded to a 1/16" x 1/2" x 4 7/8" piece of flat steel and being submerged in water. in a protective plastic sleeve with a plastic plug that fits over the tool to close and protect the carbide. The opposite end is drilled for a keychain. Carbide is much harder than any steel used for cutting, so a small piece of carbide can be pulled down on a tool by the cutting blade to sever a small piece of the cutting blade for sharpening. Pull the tool down the edge as many times as needed to create a new cut surface on the blade. Finish off by removing a few small shavings from the opposite side of the cutting edge. I'm a 70 year old guy who has worked with many different sharpening tools in his life but this tool is the cutest little gadget I know of. ever used. Simple and bulletproof, you will keep it for a lifetime. It's very inexpensive, so give it to your friends and family.
