Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Enhance Performance and Safety with MOOG 512293 Wheel Bearing and Hub Assembly by Mike Bonilla

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Hope it lasts.: Bearings and Seals

Moog has a reputation for being a premium brand but this part, like everything else, is made in China these days. Let's hope it wasn't made in the same factory as the short-lived links in the discount auto parts chain, but that's just impossible to know. The real problem is the metallurgy, and I find it unlikely that a factory in China would import good American, Japanese, German, or even Taiwanese steel, which is necessary for the durability of a highly stressed bearing. The time will show. Since the money or time spent on installation is worth so much more than the cost of the part, any warranty is worthless and the manufacturer's reputation is no longer a guide in the outsourcing age. I kind of wish I could bite the bullet and order one from the dealer.
