Review on GORE Breathable Cycling Shorts Optiline Sports & Fitness by Leroy Jacobs

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very small, very light

Most importantly, if your body fat percentage isn't too low, go up a size or two. Are they worth it? Well, the difference between the C3 and C5 is that the more expensive one has a thin layer of windproof material in the crotch. You know, to avoid wind chill on your junk. The product description describes a 'mug' to the best of my knowledge, but it doesn't actually have anything that looks like a mug. In other words, no more support than any other pair of cycling shorts. So I don't think the product description exaggerates these features. The description on the Gore website clearly states that they are very form fitting. Also on this page people complain about the seam at the back of the knee. When I try them on I feel it too and I understand how annoying it can be. It's a piece of plastic reflective tape inside and out. But no one really wants a piece of plastic pressed against the back of their knees when running for hours at 90rpm. And the reflective tape inside the shorts is not good, but the outside is good. Finally, the "suede" upholstery is nothing special. It's actually easy to squeeze between your thumb and forefinger, so it doesn't affect your weight on your sit bones much. Final Analysis: Not much better than my Przewalski jumpsuit shorts and I could buy 3 or maybe 4 of these for the same price. The quality is not 3-4 times better.
