NOT STANDARD - Buy the METRA brand!

*Update: Had to downgrade from 3 stars to 1 star. After installing the connector along with the new radio, the left channel kept failing. I thought it was wired wrong. Several times I've tried remounting with the device powered off. In the end I heard music, only the right channel, and I moved the radio, suddenly the sound of the left channel! I checked all the connections, unplugged all the wires and the problem was INSIDE the connector. PINS, FRAKKIN PINS are so tiny (see below) that they do not make a permanent connection to the OEM connector. I'll try the LITTLE NOALOX and see if it can connect the connector. But this plug is complete crap! * End of update - I have 2 Chevy trucks ('94 Extended Cab 2500 and '99 Crew 3500). I ordered a METRA brand plug for '99, but the '94 radio died first. When I was looking for another connector, this SCORSCHE brand came up. Came out a few bucks cheaper. But you get what you pay for! - Firstly I compared 2 connectors and the PINS on the METRA connector are about 20% thicker so there is less chance of bending or breaking. - Second, there is a BLANK in the factory. Interconnects. On the factory connector it is in position 4, but on the Scorsche connector it is in POSITION 5. This will NOT work! (Actually, it's position 4 on the METRA connector, which is correct.) To do this, I had to figure out how to move the pin, which I've never done before. I have several micro screwdrivers. for eyeglass repair, available for $1. Do you know where. He took out a screwdriver and tried to push it into the back of the connector where the wires are coming out. DO NOT DO THAT. I broke my small screwdriver and didn't affect the wire - Luckily I had another screwdriver. I went around the connector on the other side and noticed a small hole under the contact. I stuck a screwdriver into this hole, pushed and pushed, and finally the wire popped out of the back of the connector! Then I had to fix the locking mechanism. Like I said, this is a really cheap connector. After I put the pin back in the right place, it came loose a bit. I pray it lasts long enough for ONE gentle push on the factory plug. If not, this POS is back! IMO, save yourself the headache and BUY THE METRA BRAND FIRST! NOTE on Installation: This may fit later Chevrolet Trucks such as 2000 and 2001 but may ONLY fit CREW CAB. Chevy retained the old crew cab body style for a while after they introduced the new regular/extended cab Chevy body style in 1999. I'm pretty sure the new body trucks had a different dash/stereo setup. But the cockpit retained its former appearance for some time.
