This lens itself is extremely decent, especially considering its low cost! I shoot anything from portraits to weddings with no issues using a crop sensor Nikon D200 and a portrait lens that is among the best available. The autofocus is quiet, the speed is about average, and the color reproduction is above average. If the camera does not miss the autofocus, the detail is also above average. The drawback of autofocus is that when there is insufficient light (and even sometimes when there is more than enough), it jitters back and forth, then stops for one-fifth of a second to double-check, the rosary pulls there (or here:), and the camera beeps to indicate that everything is in focus. As I am already with him, it does not create any further difficulties at this time:) I was planning on upgrading to the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G lens, but after reading that its autofocus is even slower, I determined that this is not the right lens for me. It really irritated me, at first I didn't pay much attention, but then I felt that the colors degraded so much that even increasing the saturation did not help to get a high-quality, pure color. The Achilles' heel of this lens is that in backlight it dramatically loses the colors (and even the contrast) of the picture. This is the biggest problem with this lens. At apertures 4 and 5.6, it presents an ideal representation of itself in every way. Even at 1.8, I can get pretty sharp images when there is sufficient natural illumination (I repeat if the camera does not let you down with autofocus). There are some small chrome distortions, but they are not noticeable at all to the naked eye. And I will remain mute concerning the distortion. There are no issues with the way anything in the editor is handled. Although I have not used it with a full frame camera, I believe that it would be a fantastic choice for portrait photography if purchased for crop sensors.
