Review on 🚴 Cycling Wind Noise Reducer: AirStreamz by Cre Soto

Makes Aftershokz mic usable while cycling

I originally bought these to reduce wind noise in my ears while cycling. Worked well and I didn't notice them (no itching, no heat, no sweat). Bought a set for my wife. We thought they were ok but we could live without them. STILL, we bought the Aftershokz Trekz Titanium bone conduction headphones to use as part of a bike-to-bike communication system. Wow! Without AirStreamz, Trekz's noise-canceling mics were useless in any wind. With AirStreamz pure voice recording. A simple first test was in front of a fan. Without the AirStreamz, the Trekz picked up so much noise that you couldn't tell what anyone was talking about. There was some hiss in the voice on AirStreamz, but nothing to prevent hearing and understanding what was being said. When we ride our bikes, we turn on VOX in the Intercom app and hear what's being said without the wind noise triggering VOX or affecting our hearing. Amazing difference. Aftershokz should include a cat-ears screen with every device. We don't ride fast bikes so all I know is how well this setup works below 20mph. I could report speeds of up to 30mph if I could get my wife to give up the brakes on the descent :) Now I can't do without the AirStreamz.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Some bugs
