Review on Andersen Hitches Leveler Frustration Leveling by Michael Barry

A few "fall traps " to watch out for

The product is not universal. It only works for some applications (contrary to what is written in the product description). On a tandem axle vehicle you MUST ensure your axles are further apart than standard. If there is only 3-6 inches between the tires, you cannot install a second leveling block between the tires on the floor. They have instructions on how to modify and trim one of these, but it's far from a good solution if you're trimming a $100 or so item just to try and get it to work the first time. If you have a large or double wheelbase (a foot between the tires) this shouldn't be a problem. Another glaring problem is that they slide on the floor when the wheels roll on them. I thought it would be ok on mud and pine needles but I was very wrong. Even after cutting through pine needles and over an inch of dirt, he still slipped and cut some more dirt! It's amazing how light they are despite the weight of the camper! You need to put some traction tapes/pads on it and modify it. YET ANOTHER way to solve this problem! At nearly $100 I feel the time spent cutting, modifying, buying traction and installing traction is much more than what it was worth when the product was expensive and described as a ready to use product . I returned mine and they were very helpful with this return even though I was outside the return window. I really wanted this article to work for me. It would be great to save time and nerves if everything worked exactly as they describe. If they made a few small improvements it would definitely be worth $100.
