My cat had abdominal surgery and I dressed her in this suit when she came home instead of the plastic cone from the vet's office. I asked a vet friend and she said it was a perfectly acceptable alternative. She said some people adapt baby onesies to the cat. But here this product is made for cats. I have found medium to be best for my 8 lb adult cat. I bought two to wash one while she wears the other.
