I am very disappointed with this UV sterilizer! Less than 2 years later, WITHOUT continuous use, the item broke. After paying $50 to be so pleased initially, I was hooked. Last month when I had to use the filter I found that the wires going to the top of the mechanism were frayed and shorted. The cord is NOT UL listed and should NEVER be exposed to water. I believe this filter destroyed most of my nicely filled freshwater tank as all my parameters were in the normal range until I experienced an algal bloom. I am angry. I would love to hear from the seller after writing rave reviews and providing many helpful and supportive responses to potential customers. That seems totally unfair! I lost most of my fish that I had for years and also the UV sterilizer. Please contact me.
