I used it in a trailer to tie a table saw to a radial arm. Fitting them to a trailer that didn't previously have a hitch was fairly easy. The most important part is the square cutouts on the mounting holes so you can just tighten the nut from below and not worry about the top end of the bolt turning. I just took a zip tie to a hardware store and found some matching 3" carriage bolts, took the nuts and washers and attached them to the trailer by drilling a few holes.
