Review on MIU France Battery Powered Salt Grinder: Effortless Grinding in Sleek Black Design by Jennifer Thomas

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The gravity switch is stuck.

salt and pepper grinders that MIU bought after reading positive reviews about the pepper grinder. The pepper mill worked perfectly, but the salt mill had a faulty switch that required tapping something to turn the motor on. I have sent it back for an exchange and will report when I get a new one. Except for a defective switch, the grinder works well. Just flip it over and voila. It's not very noisy and distributes the salt fairly quickly. The difference between this grinder and the pepper grinder is that it has a ceramic grinder, while the pepper grinder has a carbon steel (not stainless steel) mechanism. The clear plastic part feels solid, but the battery cover (which also doubles as the main switch) and black plastic parts feel cheap and flimsy. The knurled screw for adjusting the fineness seems to be easy to unscrew. Not bad overall, but I'm giving it three stars due to the cheap feel and broken switch. actually worse, once inverted does not hook at all. I was able to bend the tab that touches the lid into a flat "V" shape (V-shape) so that it presses against both the lid and the battery compartment more tightly. It made him work like a champ. After a few months of use it was working fine except I had to remove the battery compartment to fill it with salt because my modification means the battery is making contact even in the off position. It's a minor inconvenience, though, and I'd still recommend it.
