This is such a great tool for working on letters and writing. Some of the letter "steps" that are numbered are not how I write them but I honestly have no idea if I was taught that way or I just started writing them that way. These boards could also be a great busy toy for the car as well as the possibility of classroom use.I haven't had any issues with the metal beads or the stylus function. My daughter has really been enjoying the see, feel, and hear aspect of using this board. My one wish would be that the stylus attached to the board. It's about pencil size and I've already spent time searching for it because my daughter didn't put it back into the holder. I have not had the stylus fall out of the storage slot.I would highly recommend this durable, simple, and fun educational toy for learning letters and writing.Would I purchase this product for my own child? YES
