We are practicing our letters and this has been perfect, my little girl has had fun with this so this has kept her going. I’m glad I purchased this because it’s kept us from not only wasting people but from keeping her interested!I would suggest this to anyone who is working on letters with their little one! We’ve seen improvement already.

We love this Magnatab for developing writers! The magnetic pull of the pen teaches toddlers and other emerging writers the right way to form letters, in this particular board, uppercase letters.There is a fun, sensory feeling to the magnetic pull, and all three of my young writers loved it. It’s great practice for those who might resist traditional pen and paper and would be at home in an Occupational Therapy setting or classroom.

I love the concept of this item. Unfortunately, the magnetic feature is a bit hit or miss. I thought it would be perfect for developing fine motor control and learning the proper strokes for each letter. When using the (very small) magnetic stylus on one letter, young child will often impact a adjacent letter. This Magnatab toy offers a sensory experience for learning to write upper case letters. The tablet has a magnetic pen that stores in a slot at the top. When children trace the letters with the pen the metal balls snap up and make a satisfying clicking sound. You also feel the pull of the magnet on the balls so it helps reinforce that you are tracing along the dotted line. This is a great tool for my kindergartener. She's learning how to write letters, and this helps guide her hand. She enjoys using it and I see her hand writing is improving with practice.

SUMMARYThis is a fun and clever toy that can really help kids learn their letters. It certainly captures their attention initially but after 2 days it doesn't seem to be interesting any more. For longer term interest I would suggest the Magnatab that is more of a doodle pad. It is a durable toy and looks like it would stand up in a classroom. My 3YO is obsessed with these! We got this one and the number/shapes tablet, and it keeps her so entertained! We bring it to restaurants, car drives, anywhere. I love that it’s compact and can slip on my tote bag, and it’s not an animated tablet. Will be giving these to friends toddlers!

This is such a great tool for working on letters and writing. Some of the letter "steps" that are numbered are not how I write them but I honestly have no idea if I was taught that way or I just started writing them that way. Okay so I have 2 toddlers a 3 year old and a 4 year old and this was such a great choice for teaching my kids the alphabet and writing they sometimes thinks learning is boring but when I showed them this awesome learning toy they wanted to learn right away teaches them the alphabet / letters and writing so this is definitely multipurpose I highly recommend if you are trying to teach your kids at home like myself

My nephew is just starting kindergarten and this is a great tool for him to practice writing his letters. Using a "pen" is a great sensory way to help enforce how to properly write the letters . The magnets get stuck, so you have to have some added wrist strength to use this that you wouldn't need to just write letters on paper. It's not a great tool for practice, since it's kind of hard to use and you can't flow like you usually can with paper and pencil writing. Regret buying it for my 5 year old to practice.

This is one of those toys that works well with lots of different ages. Our toddler really likes the process of pushing the beads back down. Our preschoolers like using the magnetic stylus to bring them up. And our elementary kids have actually practiced writing.Great for fine motor skills at multiple ages. I ordered the lower-case version of this as my first ever magnatab product. I wasn't super impressed when it arrived - it's just a bunch of letters with little magnetic balls in them that the pen pulls to the surface of the board, there wasn't anything "wow" about it. My 4.5 year old son doesn't enjoy practicing tracing letters on paper very much. I have a 4 year old daughter and she loves using this! It is helping to show her how to properly write her letters. I really love how light and portable it is. She will pick it up and easily practice her letters on the couch while watching tv or while I am cooking. She also really loved pushing down all the little balls after she is done! Great idea!

This says for 3 and up but our little guy took to it right away. Loves tracing the letters and is learning his alphabet super fast. Yes the balls to stick occasionally but if you just flip it tap it lightly they fall back down.

I don't know what it is about these, but both my kids (and their friends) LOVE these Magnatabs. Even I find myself playing with them! The sensory input of the little magnet balls (the sound and touch of them) is weirdly satisfying! We've had ours a year and both kids (2 and 5) still play with them regularly, and my oldest references it when practicing his writing.
