Review on Black PLA Filament, 500g, 1.75mm Diameter by Mike Wallace

It's garbage!

I was looking for a cheap PLA so I bought it to try. I've had nothing but problems straight out of the bag! The filament was not vacuum sealed, which should have been my first clue. The first 6 feet of the coil (I'm not exaggerating) was so brittle that I couldn't bend it, it just snapped off. I've been doing this for a few years now so I understand that some moisture will end up getting in and making it brittle, but I've never had to lose that much. Getting this material through my printer presented a whole new set of challenges. I was only able to get it to stick to my heated glass bed by putting blue tape on it. So far this is the ONLY brand I've had to do this with. Once I managed to adapt my machine to the needs of the filament I started with basic printing, nothing crazy or stressful. It lasted 15 minutes before it started blocking my NEW 0.4mm nozzle, causing a serious lack of extrusion and ruining my print. I disassembled the car to clean it. added another NEW 0.4mm nozzle and tried again. This time it took him a full 7 minutes before he pinched my car! I started sorting through the spool and found several dead zones where the thread was fragile. This may be the cause of my problems. I thought maybe I just got a bad spool, but then I tried another spool I ordered (which was also unsealed) and it was just as bad! I threw away both coils, it just wasn't worth using the sharpening. Don't waste money!
