Review on πŸ”§ Moen Cartridge Puller for Single Handle Cartridges (1200, 1222, and 1225) by David Gill

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This time (being an intelligent mammal using a tool)

Having the right tool for the job can turn a frustrating experience into an easy 5 minute task. Our house was built in 1960. , and it has a lot of older "stuff". The kit contains an old Moen shower valve. During the ownership of the house I changed the cartridge 2-3 times. Each time it was a royal pain. The last time I did this (2011), the cartridge body was stuck to the valve body with limescale and dirt. I've tried the "normal" ways to uninstall it with no success. I ended up disassembling the cartridge, leaving the brass part stuck in the valve body, and then used EZ-Out to get it out. Money (about thirty dollars) and buy a Moen tool specially designed for this task. Doesn't matter! I took out the old cartridge in 1-2 minutes and after a few minutes I put everything back together. Spend money. Highly recommended.
