This time (being an intelligent mammal using a tool)

Having the right tool for the job can turn a frustrating experience into an easy 5 minute task. Our house was built in 1960. , and it has a lot of older "stuff". The kit contains an old Moen shower valve. During the ownership of the house I changed the cartridge 2-3 times. Each time it was a royal pain. The last time I did this (2011), the cartridge body was stuck to the valve body with limescale and dirt. I've tried the "normal" ways to uninstall it with no success. I ended up disassembling…

Trust me you will need it.

This Moen machine makes heavy work a lot easier. Moen's replacement cartridge comes with this plastic thing that might work if you change cartridges, but who will? More than likely, like me, you need to replace an aging cartridge that's leaking or not letting the water heat up enough, and you don't want to go all day without water. necessary, as the old cartridge will not simply slip out there. Yes, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. Just hold the device in your hands, look at the area

The tool you should have when replacing faucet cartridges!

I hesitated for a while before buying this tool to replace my 1225 shower faucet cartridge because of its price. Also after reading some reviews that if the cartridge is badly broken it doesn't help much. .I just had a cartridge replaced and I have no regrets about this purchase. 7 years ago I had the same cartridge with badly broken plastic parts just replaced with pliers and it took 4 hours. It should have only taken me about 5 minutes with this tool. Having said that, I have to say that…

Did the job in cartridges

I hate working with plumbers. I hate doing it. But I feel happy when I do a plumbing project and it goes smoothly from start to finish. This tool was a big part of that. I chose the Moen tool over one of the cheaper unbranded tools. I just figured I'd have fewer problems with a faucet from the same company as the faucet I was trying to fix. This faucet was one of the bathroom faucets originally installed sometime in the early 1980's. There was a constant leak. For years. It is a tub on the back

Not really a "puller " in the technical sense for 1222

I used this tool to help remove the 1222 cartridge, at least not for 1222. The "puller" tool requires an adjustable one Part to sit and become stationary relative to the stationary body holding the piece to be removed. They then manipulate the tool, such as by screwing, to pull out the part to be removed against a combination of a seated, stationary part and a stationary body. In the shower cartridge scenario, the fixed body is the shower valve/pipe that holds the cartridge, the adjustable part
