Nice collection of updated patterns from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s

SWEATER GIRLS is a nice collection of classic patterns from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s updated by two renowned designers. , Weston and Taylor, using currently available threads and designed for modern women. The patterns are divided into four types: beautiful tops (7 designs), cute cardigans (4), star sweaters (6), two-piece suits and two-piece sets (3), and finishing touches (4). The four "finishing touches" are a chunky lace stole, Fair Isle beret, lace stockings, and lace bib. Modern yarns used include merino, angora, cotton, bamboo, cashmere, alpaca and silk yarns. long sleeve sweater, Crew neck and vertical rows of feather stitches. Personalize your look with the Celia Lacy Fine-Knit Twinset, a short-sleeved sweater with a stylized chevron panel and a V-neck cardigan that uses the same chevron stripe pattern on the front and back. around the neck. There isn't a single pattern in this book that I don't want to knit! (Of course, I really like the "vintage" look of knitting.) Most designs require fine yarn, knit on US 2 or US 3 needles and used for shaping. These designs require patience - they will take some time to knit due to the fine yarns used - but I think they can be knit by both adventurous intermediate and advanced knitters alike. There are many color photos of sweaters, usually depicted on models in lush settings, but also occasionally on hangers. If you love vintage knitting patterns and have old patterns that you would like to adapt for yourself, then you might also be interested in Vintage Design Workshop: Knitting Techniques. for modern style. I like SWEATER GIRLS more because the authors have already done all the work to update these fabulous classic patterns for us knitters.
