Review on 👗 Vintage Swing Dresses with Cape Collar: GownTown Women's 1950s Stretchy Collection by Sam Bauer

I bought black with a white collar, 3/4 sleeves. I love this dress! I had to go XL to fit my bust size; the big one was too tight and the material stretched. The XL felt much better but a little loose in the waist. The material is polyester and spandex so an unusual mix of materials for me but the weight of the material is good and it looks really great, especially with a petticoat! I tried on many expensive department store dresses for my company's Christmas party and nothing worked until I found this. This dress was perfect! I felt great and the price was really great! To be honest, I liked it so much that I also ordered one in red and one in black. By the way, it's not cherry-apple red, but a little more bordeaux/wine red, but really pretty. BUT ATTENTION: The color is not 100% permanent. White Collar GOING GRAY! I saw on the internet that it can be taken to the dry cleaner so I figured that would solve the problem. My dry cleaner refused to touch it because there was no care label on it. So I washed my hands in the tub and kept my white collar out of the water. The water turned very black. I've done this twice and then tried soaking it in a mixture of cold water and white vinegar (the vinegar sets the yarn color and keeps the color from bleeding, so I gave it a try). Then I rinsed in cold water (the white collar was still out of the water) and the water ran clear so I figured everything was fine. Hand wash the entire dress and apparently the black color was still enough to turn the collar into a dirty grey. So sad! But I love this dress so much that I will try again. I called Revain and they said they would replace it. I just need to figure out how to wash it so the collar doesn't end up in the same water as the dress. It would have been much better if the collar could be removed for washing. I'm deducting one star for collar/dyeing issues.
