Some of my devices use a mini-USB connector for charging, and pretty much everyone seems to be using a micro-USB connector for "cell phones" lately. Most backup batteries/chargers have either a standard USB jack or a micro USB cable. When I travel, I take a USB charger and a micro-plug cable with me to avoid packing a bag full of different chargers. These little adapters also allow me to charge my electric toothbrush (mini), my old emergency weather radio (mini), and other devices that use a female mini plug without additional chargers or cables. Much easier, less easy to forget to pack one.
