I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that my left rear passenger door lock would no longer lock and made a dying goose sound when using the automatic locks. This product is said to be suitable for the rear left passenger door. However, when I changed and removed the spindles from the old to the new one, I noticed that there is an extra spindle connection that wasn't on the old actuator. Very strange indeed so I proceeded with the installation hoping it doesn't bind, hang or trigger any actions when the car moves or the door locks/unlocks. I'm still crossing my fingers. Also, you should know that after installing it, I noticed that this drive doesn't have parental controls. So this is NOT a rear left passenger door replacement like I was told. My guess is that it is a front left door replacement on the driver's side. Since I don't have kids and have never used this feature in passing, I just left it alone. It works and that's all that matters. If I sell the car I will just let the next owners know there is no child safety lock. I just hope the extra rod connection doesn't mess it up in some way.
