Ideal for engines

Not always satisfied with Dorman quality but ordered this part from Jeep. The customer needed a repair in the near future, so we went for this one.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Minor repairability

Check your pushers!

Factory parts come with tappets, not here. Make sure you have good pushers in good working order, or be prepared to make your own. Be ready to order them for other doors. Mine fell apart every month. This was the best deal and they have been successful for many years.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • Safety

Item is defective within 60 days of installation and cannot be returned.

This product stopped working properly after just a few months. The product was installed about 60 days ago and started to work normally within 30 days after installation. My daughter left for a summer job and to this day we have not been able to fix the car. Had to replace this part today. I've checked for a return and it says the item is no longer eligible for a return. This recovery time is unsatisfactory for parts that fail within a short time.

Pros
  • An Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Fits the rear driver's door, but you have to cut a piece

I couldn't find any locking mechanisms for the rear doors on anyone, so I took this front mechanism and hoped it worked. Yes, but there is an additional lever for the handle that has to go to the lock cylinder when it is installed in the front door. If you install it on the tailgate, this lever will bind and prevent it from working properly. However, I was able to easily cut this lever off with metal scissors and still mount it. That works great. However, there's no lever to activate the child…

Saved me money and works great!

The driver's door on my Jeep Cherokee would no longer open from the outside. The Jeep dealership's customer service department charged $190 for the part and another $200 for the replacement. I watched a short video on how to replace it yourself and then bought this actuator and replaced it in just over an hour. Works great and saved me a ton of money! It's only been installed for a few days, but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work anymore. I'm not a mechanic and replacing the part was…

Not for rear left door but works.

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that my left rear passenger door lock would no longer lock and made a dying goose sound when using the automatic locks. This product is said to be suitable for the rear left passenger door. However, when I changed and removed the spindles from the old to the new one, I noticed that there is an extra spindle connection that wasn't on the old actuator. Very strange indeed so I proceeded with the installation hoping it doesn't bind, hang or trigger any…

  • Absolutely amazing!
