I wanted a nice looking broom with a modern aesthetic for picking up cat hair and other debris. I have a wooden floor, so you'll get a feel for what's happening down there pretty quickly. This broom is segmented so the load is evenly distributed across the broom handle so I don't think it's going to break any time soon. The bristles are a little softer and shorter than expected, but after a few swipes I got used to it. I think the soft bristles actually help sweep things that are stuck on the medium sized carpet in my living room so I don't have to get my vacuum out. The dustpan is just as good. The rubber lip on the opening is really good. I have worked in many restaurants and so many shovels will leave behind a little that you will sweep up the pile you have accumulated several times. There's nothing like that in this scoop that I wasn't expecting at all. This makes cleaning much faster and I don't have to wonder how much dirt is actually left on my floors. Nice on the inside of a closet door. This is a great purchase!
