I bought a new Reolink Argus Eco camera from Revain (https://www.amazon.com/REOLINK-Argus-Eco-Rechargeable-Solar-Powered/dp/B07N63VJ67) and a few days ago receive later. I have bought Reolink cameras for both myself and my family in the past and have given recommendations to many people based on my experience and the expertise of my son who works with security cameras and videos on a daily basis and sees the good and the bad. . I've installed enough different models over the years that I feel I can speak with experience and also be able to tell the good from the bad. The last cameras I bought before Eco were three Reolink RLC-410 5MP units. They are amazing and offer the best value for money among wired circular cameras. Reolink has been consistent in the development and diversity of its line of cameras. Bullets, Domes, Keen, Argus, Go and now Argus Eco. The box includes a quick start guide, an installation template and a CCTV protection sticker. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The camera is powered by either a standard USB power adapter or a Reolink solar panel (sold separately). The battery was charged when the Eco came out of the box, so it only took a few minutes to set it up. The setup procedure is similar to previous Reolink cameras and easier than any other brand I've come across. You simply scan the QR code on the camera with your smartphone or tablet. The excellent Reolink app will detect and pair the camera first and then set it up in the app. Installing the camera took less than 5 minutes. The internal micro SD memory card is also a big advantage. It can store days or even weeks of images depending on map size and activity. Images and videos can be easily accessed through the app and are in a non-proprietary format so they can be viewed and easily shared in any popular Windows, Mac or Linux application. Using an SD card means there are no fees or security issues storing your images elsewhere. . You keep your privacy and control and can access it quickly and in excellent quality from your smartphone, tablet or computer. Reolink also offers an online storage service (https://cloud.reolink.com/). A standard tripod mount is included if you wish. Argus Eco is powered by two rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. When installed with a Reolink solar panel or standard USB charger, it maintains a full charge at all times. The Eco runs entirely on batteries, runs without an external power supply and lasts for several days depending on the number of actions that trigger the motion detection and recording circuitry. It alerts you when the battery drops below 10%. Suffice it to mention the Reolink solar panel (https://www.amazon.com/Reolink-Solar-Panel-Rechargeable-Waterproof/dp/B0798MV7NS) that can maintain the Eco working charge, eliminating the need for an electrical plug . To date there has been no significant loss of charge over the past week and the battery has only slightly discharged over 2 days of cloud and rain. By the way, Argus Eco is waterproof according to IP65. Of course, investing in a solar panel pays off quickly, as the camera is virtually maintenance-free. Below the charging port is a small LED that glows red when charging and turns green when fully charged. The motion detection circuitry appears to be an improvement over previous models. Heavy rain and bugs could sometimes trigger my motion detector. Admittedly I set the sensitivity to high as we live in an area where wildlife such as coyotes and raccoons regularly pass our property. Argus Eco specifications state that sensitivity to irritants such as small twigs is reduced. I noticed fewer false positives and entries with this model. Spicy. For a more versatile camera, the Argus Eco delivers excellent image quality and amazingly clear nighttime videos. It has a good field of view, enough to see the entire facade of my house. In fact, this camera is small enough that I intend to discreetly install it in a bird feeder in a tree across from my house, powered by a solar panel, so it's completely wireless. This allows me to see, hear and record every activity in my entire front yard as the Argus Eco has a sensitive built in microphone. You can even use two-way audio to talk to people nearby. Of course, Argus Eco can email you and notify you via the motion detection app. You can set up your recorded alarm voice and/or turn on the siren and respond immediately even when you're not there. To sum up, CCTV cameras are mainly available in two types. Those who just "tell a story" about what happened, with images too bad to identify the perpetrators; and those with quality levels, which are useful when you're a victim. There are dozens that "tell the story". The ones that are really good for security can be very expensive. With Argus Eco, Reolink has delivered a high-quality 1080p Full HD product at a reasonable price. Confidence that my property will be checked by Reolink. Pros: โข Easy to set up โข Thoughtful design and build quality โข Multiple power options (could really be wireless) โข Improved motion detection โข Good night vision โข Built-in storage via SD card Cons: Haven't found any yet... Great Reolink product!
