I had one of these when they first came out. I bought it at the gift shop at the airport. It has served me for many years, probably 5 or 6. I bent and the probe almost broke. So I had to replace it. Thought I'd try a few cheaper versions first because I figured the technology has certainly evolved. I must have tried 3 or 4 different ones before I finally gave up and went back to Brookstone. What I noticed about this new version is that it connects to the transmitter faster and more reliably than the old version 1. That makes it even more valuable to me. I roast a lot. The accuracy is amazing.
