The original parts on my American Standard Cresent Dual Handle Deck Mount Hampton Faucet (Roman Bath) lasted 18 years. I just had to replace the cold stem/cartridge with this item and I will be replacing the hot side soon - just to do so as it is also 18 years old. Can't tell if the new rod/cartridge will last as long, but the one I've installed is working fine for now. American Standard didn't answer my call after 30 minutes trying to confirm this was the part I needed. But if you have an American standard Roman bath faucet, this part will probably work for you as well. (The new part appears to have the plastic portion of the cartridge, while the old cartridge with the barrel appeared to be mostly ceramic and metal.)
