First, it's metal. My $300 clippers are metal, most others are plastic, and that's important to me. They come with 10 combs or guides. Most of my other trimmers, even the very expensive ones, have 3 to 5 rails. Replacing or ordering a different size guide for expensive trimmers, I have found, is expensive. Most of the kits I buy are only for short haircuts. This allows you to leave the hair a little longer on top and as close on the sides as possible. There is also a lever that adds more cutting length options for all guides. The battery on it is rechargeable and quite powerful. I have about 2.5 hours of work, which is enough for many haircuts at home. Of course, if you run out of power, you can plug it in and keep using it while it charges, although the cord is a bit short. Another problem with the cable is that it's not a standard USB type. You can find a replacement if you search, but it would be better if both sides of the cable were like a regular USB. As you can see from the attached photo, the metal is a bit thin. You'll see the thickest part of the metal since it's stamped from sheet metal. ie the curved part has been pressed into shape and is thinner than the edges. However, it weighed 330g or almost 12 ounces. It feels professional in your hands. The blades were sharp but I would expect them to be on any new machine. We'll see if they stay clear in about a year. The remaining battery indicator is easy to read and accurate. You can also use the power button to lock your device so it doesn't accidentally turn on while traveling (as I've had more than once). The method is hidden in the instructions but just press the power button for 5 seconds and it will be locked and you will see the lock icon on the display. To turn the device back on when it's locked, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds again. I'm a little worried about the guide combs, they are the weakest part of the set. While I appreciate all of the sizing options, I would also appreciate the higher quality plastic and less flexible set. I am concerned that they will break and the longer rails will not remain stable with use. In general, however, this is excellent quality, especially considering the price. I think it will be difficult to find a trimmer that 1) has a metal body, 2) can be used in the shower, 3) has 10 rails, and 4) has a powerful, long-lasting battery and the features it has . , like a battery indicator and a lock, about what you would pay for it.
