The tool is the ideal weight and dimensions for leatherworking and is strong enough for punching holes in thick leather and assembling hardware. Mine has already been heavily used and there are almost no marks left on the impact side. The comfortable grip allows you to change the position of your hand for heavy hitting and delicate work. Update: It's still going strong and is my favorite hammer for all leather goods. I use a nylon/rubber mallet for any really tough work, but this hammer does almost all of my tools. It's not chipped or warped - still highly recommended.
