Review on Omix Ada 17733 01 Accelerator Pedal by Thomas Drew

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Also fits International Harvester Scouts

I ordered and installed this on an early (1966) International Harvester Scout 800 because mine was gone. If you look at all the parts stores for the IHC, replacing the gas pedal costs about $80 <gasp>. I could see this for some of the later more complex pedal assemblies, but these old Boy Scouts are very basic, as are the early jeeps and wheelies. Many parts are interchangeable as they all used parts from the same sources as well as each other's parts on their assembly lines. Anyway, it costs $20 and is almost an exact replica of what was used in the old Scouts. I saved $60 and it installed and works like a charm. The installation took 15 minutes total, and most of the time was spent trying to get the woman under Scout to screw it up. I would give 5 stars because it works just as easily as the quality, "good". Not as heavy as the original, of course, but they never are. If it were made in the USA I would give it 5 stars. But as much as I hate betting India's product 100% (now 99.9%) on my good old American steel, I'll say it again, $60! I could use it in another part, on the old Scout I need worse.

Pros
  • Steel
Cons
  • Vanish
