Insufficient Power - KVM Switches

This is one of the few KVM hubs that supports USB 3.1. I used it to switch my USB mic and webcam between two devices. I wanted this to work with my keyboard too. While it sometimes worked when I switched between devices, most of the time I got an error message that the device wasn't getting enough, resulting in one of the devices I had plugged into the hub not getting power. This happened even though I connected the power adapter directly to the hub. Aside from not being able to power all the connected devices, the transition is pretty slow compared to other KVMs I've used in the past. Switching between each connected computer takes about 2-4 seconds. The hub isn't smart enough to go straight to the next connected computer anyway. This means that if you have connected PC1 and PC2 and are correctly on PC2, you must switch between PC3 and PC4 before you can reconnect to PC1.

Pros
  • USB POWER: USB 3.1 switch is USB powered - no external power supply required.
Cons
  • Expensive
