Review on 🚰 DANCO 1-Pack Oil Rubbed Bronze Faucet Lever Handle (89419) - Enhance Your Bathroom Décor by Jacob Jefferson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It won't fit every faucet in the world, but it has enough parts to make it fit.

This is a beautifully made and very affordable set of lever handles that can be installed on almost any hot or cold water faucet that has valves turned by simple pins and the handles are bolted on with center screws. What I wanted to do was replace the insanely smooth faucet handles on our master bath waterfall faucet with something that worked better, Yosemite Home Decor YP9213D-BN Common Two Handle Roman Bathtub Faucet (Now has another (a cheaper version is the Rozin LED Waterfall, a common tub faucet that comes with lever handles (which weren't on the market when we got the Yosemite Home Decor version.) This isn't a plumbing company like Moen or Kohler, they just import products made in factories are made in China. This Danco polished nickel handle set comes with some US standard size threaded screws that don't fit the waterfall bath faucet. But it wasn't that hard to figure out how to adjust it. You will need a few tools, which I already had: 1. Thread Gauge - http://www.amazon.com/Nut-Bolt-Thread-Gauge-RED/dp/B00XUU0UMK/ref=cm_rdp_product (I had already have one, a free one from allensfasteners.com they sent me a few years ago when I placed a large order with them).2. a 5x to 10x magnifying glass to view the threads on the cheap gauge above (or you can spend a lot more money on some really well machined metal thread gauge sets where you actually thread the screws in to determine the thread size) 3. calipers4. a set of drills and drill bits, clamps for fixing Danco adapters when drilling. Old phone book or thick catalog to drill through. I took the original center screw from a waterfall faucet handle and used a thread gauge and a magnifying glass to figure out that it was a 4mm metric screw with a 0.70mm thread size. I then placed this Danco lever faucet handle on top of the faucet legs and used the small hex wrench that came with the Danco lever kit and measured the length of screw that would be required to install it. This turned out to be a 45mm length. I ordered a set of stainless steel pan head Phillips screws in various lengths from 35mm to 50mm with a metric diameter of 4mm and a thread size of 0.7mm from allensfasteners.com (the screws are really cheap. The shipping - and processing costs exceed the total costs). of the screws - total cost was about $12, but could easily have been less than $10 had I ordered fewer screws). Once the bolts arrived I took a caliper and measured the diameter of the faucet. Columns at the faucet of the waterfall. The top of almost all faucet stands have these serrated teeth designed to fit flush with the intended faucet handle. Yosemite Falls valve ports are about 7.6-7.7mm in diameter in this area and the closest drill bit I had for this size was a 1/4 inch drill bit. I chose a drill slightly smaller than the diameter of the faucet post as the idea is to press in the adapters that come with the Danco levers. This part requires some experimentation to drill Danco adapters. into a hole of the right size and could still be pressed against the crane legs. I was able to do this successfully with one of Danco's aluminum adapters, but messed up the aluminum adapter on the other handle by over-drilling a hole that was too big, so I used one of the plastic adapters instead. Both worked well in the end. I align, set the knobs to the desired orientation, take the 45mm stainless steel screws I ordered from allensfasteners.com, and screw the whole thing in place. You can only do this once! So make sure the levers are oriented in the desired direction. So! It wasn't that hard. These Danco levers might not quite deserve a five star rating, but we really need some balance in these reviews. There are too many one star reviews for this lever set from people who can't figure out how it works for custom sized faucets. Attached is a photo of Danco levers mounted over original Yosemite faucet stands.
