Review on πŸ’Ύ Seagate Exos 7E8 4TB 512n SATA 128MB Cache 3.5-Inch Enterprise HDD (ST4000NM0035) by Ryan Cornelius

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The drive arrived as advertised and has the capacity described.

The EXOS drive must be Seagate upscale and have Seagate Secure features. The drive is fast and cool in normal use, but during the transfer of about 2.5TB of data that I was trying to back up, this drive can get so hot you can't grab it. In my case the drive was not in an enclosure (I only used cables to connect to the external drive connector). It has never failed during transfer even when heated so the drive is extremely durable. I have no hesitation in recommending it for another reason. I don't believe in storing data on large drives (greater than 6TB) because if the drive fails you could lose a lot. I have (12) 4TB drives and I don't have to worry about losing everything if just one of the drives fails.
