Turned a Sony A6400 DSLR into a video conferencing camcorder while working from home as part of the accommodation in place due to COVID. This device costs $200 and is 33% cheaper than the Magewell product, which looks identical in the pictures; I suspect Magewell just rebrands this unbranded component and charges additional fees. The same product is available directly from China through other resellers for $60, but the delivery time is much longer. Connected to the camera's HDMI output (requires a different HDMI cable than the one supplied), USB to a Windows 10 laptop and it just worked. Some reviews report that the UVC device gets warm from the HDMI input to the USB output, but is only lukewarm from day one of use. This is to be expected, since the electronics dissipate the heat via the metal housing. Great solution for reusing high quality lenses on your DSLR for video conferencing via laptop or computer.
