The instructions are terrible, but they work.

Purchased to transfer recordings from a DVR to a flash drive. In the literature and manuals it sounds like "plug and play" with idiot protection. not quite. It didn't work with the software I had for my camcorder or windowed media player. However, after reading some reviews, I found that there are a number of compatible free video capture software. Tried a few. Liked OBS "open streaming software". The best. The picture is good, the sound is a little wheezy, but sufficient for my purposes…

Probably the best gadget I bought this year

Expensive or what? Bigger than my camcorder, but it converts Full HD HDMI signals to 1080p USB3.0 webcam signals, which can then be used with OBS, for example. It doesn't drop frames and it also handles audio, but I use a separate USB mic. so this aspect is not important for me. It just works - simple and clear. Plug it directly into your computer and it will be recognized. We use it for Skype calls and it's rare to find anything video related that gets the job done without clutter, driver…

DSLR for video conferencing at home

Turned a Sony A6400 DSLR into a video conferencing camcorder while working from home as part of the accommodation in place due to COVID. I'm new to this field but I'm good at PC. I use this to backup some old VHS tapes. A few years ago I tried a cheap entry level PC and its software. It was rubbish. For example, it was sold claiming that it would run on Windows 7. But it was probably already too old and had random driver updates. Fast forward a few years and this was my second hit on this one. A cheap alternative that works in most situations but not the Canon 5D MK IV.

Product arrived brand new in box, no signs of use or schematic packaging so a good start. If you need a consumer camera or camcorder with an HDMI output to connect directly to your computer via USB and just get it working, this box will most likely work. If you have a Canon 5D MK IV it doesn't work, but I don't know why. The camera outputs HDMI at 1080p at 59.94 fps, but there may be a specification in the HDMI data that is not recognized by this device. The good news is that you don't need any
