Review on Advanced Digital Auto Ranging Multimeter (AC/DC) by UNI-T - True RMS, Multitester by Yuan Walsh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just get it. That's better than multimeters that cost more than twice as much.

It says RioRand, but it's actually a Uni-T U61E. I wish I could give it 4.5 stars as there are a few minor issues. I'll start with them, but don't forget that I really like this little guy. He's not as fast as he'd like. It has no backlight and it squeaks too much. The beep isn't that annoying though, it's still fast enough, and you can add a backlight if you want. When you buy a multimeter you will probably find it convenient to open up and modify the electronics, and there are actually many modifications that can be made to this device. Look on YouTube or electronics forums, there are plenty of them. Once you're done with the change, it goes from nice to awesome. It feels really solid and feels good in the hand. Also, I like the color. True RMS plus lots of features, great accuracy, an RS232 port for computer logging and when you count 22,000 you get lots of decimals. It's fairly accurate even on ultra-low resistance measurements, which is hard to find in this price range, and quite a lot in higher ones. Overall, this little guy far beats its price tag in terms of quality. Why pay $150 or more for randomness when it's easily matched or surpassed?
