2006 Chevy Avalanche - 3.5L 165K - Good Substitute. We need to talk about that Y joint! With the old hose, I had a small leak in the Y-piece that allowed coolant to get onto my A/C compressor. This fitting is located directly above the air conditioning compressor! Once on the Autobahn, I heard loud popping noises, but I didn't feel anything, the Autobahn is absolutely slippery! I've encountered several A/C issues, relays failing, refrigerant blown out, and I believe a leaking Y-piece was the cause. I think a leaky Y-piece temporarily shorted out my high pressure switch! After replacing the hose, there are no more leaks or pops and so far no interruptions in the cool air.
