Review on Proxxon 28500 12 Volt Rotary Micromot by Dusty Oner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Heavy Small Rotary Tool

Help me with lighter tasks to make small metal tips for tools for sale, all have not withstood regular use over time. The Proxxon tool is the first that easily does the job I need without overheating or freezing. This high performance phone has plenty of power thanks to the Proxxon 38704 high performance transformer. I use it in conjunction with the Proxxon 38700 footswitch which makes it even easier to control the speed of the tube. Changing the rotating tool takes longer than the cartridge collet on other machines. The push button latch is difficult to hold with small hands like mine, but the collet has a more secure and firm grip. The overall pipe size is larger in diameter and length than other machines and is a bit more difficult to manage. But the power of the system and the reliability of the Proxxon name more than make up for it. I thought I would save money by buying a cheaper car and then had to replace it several times. I think I got what I paid for. The performance of this rig and the reliability of the Proxxon name more than makes up for the modest difference in price after snagging a big discount on Revain. I think this will be the last small rotary press I will have to buy for my business.

Pros
  • Specially balanced motor makes this tool run very smoothly at 20,000rpm, comes with 6 high precision steel collets with three slots
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
