My 100+ dog slipped down the wooden stairs because there was no footing. She was starting to be too scared to even go down them. We bought these tiers and couldn't remove them quickly. It took about 15 minutes to install them. super easy. The design is pleasant, the traction for the dog is excellent. Now she can walk up and down stairs with ease and does not hesitate. It hasn't spilled since we put them in. We haven't washed them yet, but I don't expect to have to do that very often. They don't budge, even if they don't have real glue - just a rubber backing (so you don't have to worry about ruining the stair nosing). When we put them down, some of them rose slightly since they were sent folded in half. They smoothed out after walking on them for a few days. The only downside is that they show my Golden Retriever's light colored dog coat, but having two dogs in the home is a real no-brainer for the coat problem.
