These are a direct replacement for our fancy Apple speakers. After 7 years of daily use, the left speaker failed. At the same time, the speakers and the battery were changed. Be sure to lift the speakers and don't pull them out when you separate them! I almost cut our ties, oops. The new speakers are good, but the sound quality isn't the same as our original Apple speakers. For the price you shouldn't complain, hence 5 stars. Overall very happy with the purchase and would recommend them if your current speakers have exploded. Let's hope these last.
