Review on 🎧 Sennheiser SD Pro2 ML Double-Sided Wireless Headset: Perfect for Desk Phone & Skype for Business with Ultra Noise-Cancelling Microphone - Black by Stephanie Byrd

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Great sound quality, absurd range, slightly annoying mute button

Update: <6 months later, the headset doesn't last 2 hours. I had to call 3 different support numbers to get the right customer support (it looks like Sennheiser has outsourced support for this product). The support team fixed my issue and told me to wait 2 business days for a reply. Meanwhile I spent $35 ordering a new battery because it was driving me crazy. Support response after 2 days? "Try changing the battery". Thanks, people. I just did it and even a fresh battery doesn't last more than an hour. Support didn't answer me within 28 hours. And the not-so-great mute button is now almost entirely useless on a headset. At this point I officially regret this purchase. I've been discussing this with support for 6 days now and at best I expect them to ask me to send this to them for them to take care of. ---------------- I have a home office in my basement. The range of these headphones (because they use DECT instead of Bluetooth) allows me to roam freely around my three-story house without signal loss (which means the range of this headset is significantly greater than that of a high-end WiFi). WLAN router). To test it, I went outside and was able to walk more than 100 feet from my house and still had excellent signal quality (after all, going behind a metal roof blocked the signal). The sound quality of the microphone is fantastic. Attractive and durable, the stand has a USB port and a phone port (I only used USB). While it's not "optimized for Skype", it works great with Skype like any other headset. The only drawback is the mute button. It's a physical button under the ear that's easy to reach. But two problems: 1) There is no physical or visual indication on the headset that the audio is muted. This leaves me with stupid paranoia. There is an audible "beep-boop" when the audio is muted compared to "beep-beep" when the audio is on. When I'm out of sight of the blinking red light on the base station (which is also a little annoying since you can get a quick peek when it's not blinking and they're on), I find myself muting the and the Unmute beeps a few times to check my status. 2) The button itself is oddly tacky and unreliable. You have to press it pretty hard and if you don't press it for a while it will pop and get stuck. I still give it 5 stars because everything else works so well and I can't justify paying a few hundred more for a similar quality headset with a better mute button.
