Review on Hillbilly Wrist Guard Gloves - Half Finger: Protect Your Hands in Style! by Francisco Russell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

EXTREMELY (perhaps too) durable - needs a break-in period!

Hands down my favorite wrist guards (no pun intended! I bought this 2nd pair). Real goatskin is amazing - it's thick, durable and can withstand just about anything. I also really like that only the bottom of the handcuffs has a plastic insert as opposed to others that also have plastic on top. This provides a "more natural" hand position and can be safer in a hard fall. In fact, I can safely say they saved me from breaking my wrist when I fell trying to rollerblade; almost the entire weight of my upper body was on my (subconsciously) outstretched right wrist. No injuries were sustained other than being on the 'brink' of a minor sprain. They are very ergonomic, semi-breathable and have a comfortable fabric. I just have to remember to flex my wrist down when I'm putting them on so the side seam doesn't dig into my skin. Just a word of warning: it doesn't slide as easily on the left as it does on the right. one. This means if you hit it hard and it doesn't slip off, you could injure your hand. However, I suspect that this will pass as I continue to wear and break them in over time. I "deliberately" started breaking them in, simulating a forward fall onto the cement floor (with tethers attached, of course). They tend to slide a little better after doing it a few times. I would buy any other brand again any day despite these minor inconveniences as it is still far better than anything I have used.
