Insufficient ankle protection

I've used them with a bike and while they offer decent wrist protection they don't protect the ankle. The upper part of the gloves is made of sheer fabric that does not protect your skin. I don't expect them to work miracles, but a fall caused significant damage to my left forearm. I suggest looking for a wrist guard that offers better upper arm protection.

  • So far so good

Great gloves - small to fit my lady's hands

They look really great. I am a woman with small hands. I used to wear Triple Eight-Hired Hands ($59) for skating, usually a size medium because they run small. (see comparison) They were sold out so I wanted to try them. They seem to be of really good quality. They gave a very supportive wrist plate but unlike the Triple8 they don't have a back plate either. (I'm not sure if that matters to you or not.) I ended up finding some triple eights so I can return them, but when I need triple eights…

Tire broke on first fall

I bought these to use when I ride my Onewheel XR and they do the job and protect my wrists from injury. BUT the tire in one of my gloves broke in half after a slight fall on the pavement. I fell and kind of hit the ground. It may have saved my wrist, despite being an extreme sports veteran and this fall seemed easy at worst. That said, I can still use this pair as the wrist wraps act like those old Harbinger weightlifting gloves and provide enough support even with a half broken splint. The…

Great gloves for OneWheel but durability is questionable!

I like gloves when riding the Onewheel and they also allow you to use your phone as fingers are exposed. Haven't had to test them yet (thank goodness) but I have to say the side seams ripped when I took off one of the gloves, with very limited use. I emailed the company photos on 9/15/21 and had no reply by 10/19/21 and only received a one line email with a very short reply saying the warranty had expired. Hm? It seems that if the seam tears just by putting it on the hand, it is a defect. Other

They might just break your wrists if you fall.

Come back. Very uncomfortable and no top support. If I had fallen into them a few weeks ago instead of my old cheaper inline pads both wrists would probably have been broken. Roller skates also have some stiffness on top that protects all those little bones in the wrists. You have too many curves to do anything but protect your palms from scratches. I did a trial drop with them and felt like I almost broke my left wrist. Everything was fine on the right side, but it hurt a lot on the left. They

For small hands: DO NOT increase size

Looks and feels sturdy. Can't rate wear/work as I haven't worn them yet. I'll state the obvious: they are designed for typical (male) hands. I have big hands for a woman, but mine are a lot longer than they are wide. The reviews said the size is bigger which would make me XL (see photo). I went with the L after talking my way out of the M. I had to go with the M. They are loose enough in my palm to hook and I have to squeeze them gently. I'm used to wearing oversized (full finger) gloves so my…

The plastic wrist guards work. The seams and the smell are terrible.

I've had them for 5 or 6 weeks now. In the first week, I noticed the threads unraveling at the junction of the index finger and thumb of one hand, and eventually the threads resolved completely. I still wore them. Whatever fabric they are, the smell is terrible. Nobody in the car could stand my smell once I was done wearing them - but I didn't buy them for the smell, I bought them for protection. Which brings me to the positive things. There are 2 pluses.1. Price. These are good entry-level…

EXTREMELY (perhaps too) durable - needs a break-in period!

Hands down my favorite wrist guards (no pun intended! I bought this 2nd pair). Real goatskin is amazing - it's thick, durable and can withstand just about anything. I also really like that only the bottom of the handcuffs has a plastic insert as opposed to others that also have plastic on top. This provides a "more natural" hand position and can be safer in a hard fall. In fact, I can safely say they saved me from breaking my wrist when I fell trying to rollerblade; almost the entire weight of…
